Laboratory tests of eight food products sold in Uzbekistan stores were found to be inconsistent with current documentation, as reported by the Competition Committee.

Samples of nine food products were purchased from various sales outlets in Tashkent city for a controlled purchase, formalized according to established procedures, and submitted for testing to accredited laboratories.

According to the conclusions of the accredited laboratories of the National "Reference" and "Technostandart-NEO" LLC of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Peace and Public Health Committee on Product Quality and Safety, eight out of nine food products, i.e., 88%, were found to be non-compliant with current technical regulatory documents.

In particular, deficiencies related to product composition, labeling, and packaging were identified. These deficiencies were linked to the following manufacturing enterprises:

  • "BRUNI" chocolate cake product — manufactured by "Almerro Group" LLC;
  • "SELLATILGAN BEEF GOSHTI high quality" canned beef product — produced by "Marmaks" JV LLC;
  • "BIO KEFIR" kefir — produced by "DIL-BAH DAIRY GROUP" LLC;
  • "Sugar" product — manufactured by "Prima Industries Group" LLC;

  • "Kunjutnoe maslo" oil product — manufactured by "Makhmadjon Nurafshon" JSC;
  • "Sedana oil" oil product — produced by "Makhmadjon Nurafshon" JSC.

The Competition Committee stated that measures are being taken to eliminate the deficiencies identified during the control procurement and to halt the sale of low-quality products.
