24666Government institutions in Uzbekistan have started auctioning off official vehicles manufactured abroad through the "E-auction" platform. Relevant announcements have been posted online.
For instance, a Toyota Land Cruiser, previously under the Agrosanoat Majmui Inspections Department of the Cabinet of Ministers, has been listed for auction with a starting price of approximately 471 million UZS.
Among the vehicles up for auction is a Cadillac from the Presidential Administration’s transport fleet. The starting price for this vehicle has been set at 246 million UZS.
As a reminder, on March 5 of this year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the need to sharply reduce the use of foreign-made official cars and transition to domestic vehicles and furniture. Following this directive, officials began replacing foreign-manufactured service vehicles with national brands. For example, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov switched his official car from a Mercedes-Benz to a Malibu. Foreign-made vehicles owned by government institutions are now being systematically auctioned off through the "E-auction" electronic platform.
