Volodin arrives in Tashkent as Mirziyoyev returns from Paris

Today, March 14, the Chairman of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, met with the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as part of an official visit, the press service of the Russian State Duma reported.  

Vyacheslav Volodin conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Shavkat Mirziyoyev.  

"The cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan is a strategic partnership based on respect for traditional values, a shared culture and history, and consideration of national interests," said the Chairman of the State Duma.  

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, including parliamentary collaboration within international organizations. Vyacheslav Volodin emphasized that the strategic agreements reached between the Presidents of Russia and Uzbekistan place significant responsibility on legislators to ensure the legitimacy of the decisions made.  

The Chairman of the State Duma expressed gratitude to Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his efforts in deepening parliamentary cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan. He also acknowledged the Uzbek leadership’s role in honoring the bravery of the Soviet people during World War II.  

It is worth noting that Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Paris from March 11 to 13 at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
