A father in Tashkent's Yunusobod district who had been evading alimony payments for his three children was found hiding behind a wall during a search operation. This was reported by the Tashkent city department of the Compulsory Enforcement Bureau.

The father, identified as N.H., was ordered to pay alimony for the support of his three minor children as per a court decision from the Mirzo Ulugbek Interdistrict Court for Civil Affairs dated May 5, 2023. The enforcement document, aimed at recovering the alimony payments, was received by the Yashnobod district department of the bureau on July 8, 2023, prompting the initiation of an enforcement case.

The father had been wanted since April 2024, attempting to avoid his financial obligations. After an intensive search, authorities found the alimony-related documents hidden behind the outer wall of his home. The case was then sent to the Yashnabad District Court for criminal proceedings under Article 471 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility.

Following his sentencing to 15 days of administrative detention, the father’s relatives paid off the alimony debt, which amounted to 54,562,000 sums.

This is not the first instance of a father being found evading alimony payments. Previous cases have involved men hiding in various locations, including behind curtains, under house covers, in basements, and even in unusual places such as chicken farms and nightclubs. In one case, a father was found at his brother’s wedding in Surkhandarya, and another was discovered behind a slate in the unfinished area of his house in Andijan.
