An Uzbek died in the earthquake in Turkey

One Uzbek died in the earthquake in Turkey, and 4 others are missing.  This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

As of 10:00 a.m. today, 7 February (Tashkent time), one citizen of Uzbekistan died in the Malatya province due to the earthquake.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its condolences to the family members and relatives of the deceased," the report said.

In addition, four Uzbeks are missing.  It is reported that rapid search and rescue operations are being carried out to find them.

"Currently, to provide appropriate assistance to our citizens affected by the earthquake and to consider their appeals, a 24-hour staff has been established at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ankara, which can be contacted at the following number +90-538-035- 85-34", said the official statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It should be recalled that on 6 February of this year, a strong earthquake of magnitude 7.9 (7.4 according to preliminary data) occurred in the southeastern regions of Turkey and several regions of Syria.  Later, another 7.7 magnitude earthquake occurred in Turkey.  The number of victims in the country is 3,381. The number of wounded reached 20,426.  In neighboring Syria, the number of dead was 1,444, and 3,530 were injured.
