Today, 9 February, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Uzbekistan.

It is known that on 6 February, the powerful earthquakes that occurred in the southeastern regions of Turkey shook the whole world with their destruction. The Uzbek people were also heartbroken and felt deep sadness and sympathy over the disaster.

On the same day, the head of state expressed his condolences to the brotherly people of Turkey and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.  Several groups of rescuers from Uzbekistan were sent to Turkey to help deal with consequences of the earthquake.  Also, humanitarian aid shipments are being sent regularly.

Today, President Mirziyoyev visited the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Uzbekistan and once again expressed his condolences to the brotherly people.  He asked God to have mercy on the deceased and to give patience and endurance to their families and loved ones.  He wished the injured people a speedy recovery.

The Uzbek and Turkish peoples have always been together and supported each other in good and bad times.  This friendship, fraternity, and mutual support are even more evident in difficult times like the present.

Mirziyoyev said that Uzbekistan is ready to provide all necessary assistance.  He wrote comforting words in the condolence book opened at the embassy.
