Mentally ill woman attempts to take school student in Tashkent (video)

A video showing a stranger attempting to grab a school student’s hand has been circulating on social media, sparking widespread discussion. The Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs has provided details on the incident.  

The incident took place on February 10 in the Bektemir district of the capital. At approximately 14:00, near a bus stop on Bilol Nazim Street, a woman identified as R.Ch., born in 1990 and receiving regular treatment at a mental health clinic, approached the student and engaged in conversation. She left the scene after noticing local residents nearby. Authorities swiftly detained the woman.

Man sentenced for negligence leading to young boy’s death in Tashkent well incident

The Bektemir District Internal Affairs Directorate is conducting a pre-investigation inquiry, and a legal decision will be made based on the findings.  

It is worth noting that in May 2023, a driver in Samarkand threatened twin teenage girls by falsely claiming to be a child abductor. Although he denied the accusation, an investigation confirmed that he had blocked the girls' path and threatened them.
