Tokayev, Japarov, and Rahmon praise Mirziyoyev’s leadership on his birthday

On July 24, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev celebrated his 68th birthday. The leaders of the Central Asian countries also extended their congratulations. This was reported by Presidential Spokesperson Sherzod Asadov.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev:

In his congratulatory message, Tokayev called Shavkat Mirziyoyev a “wise and far-sighted leader” and praised his achievements in transforming Uzbekistan.

“Dear Shavkat Miromonovich! Please accept my sincere congratulations and best wishes on your birthday! Your constructive activity as head of state has become a solid foundation for the rapid development of Uzbekistan, strengthening its international prestige, and improving the well-being of its citizens. Under your wise and far-sighted leadership, the country is boldly moving forward on the path of large-scale reforms,” Tokayev wrote.

He expressed his sincere appreciation for Mirziyoyev’s commitment to strengthening good-neighborly relations and comprehensive cooperation with Kazakhstan.

“I am confident that with our joint efforts, we will further enhance bilateral achievements and raise the Kazakh-Uzbek strategic partnership and alliance to new heights.

On this special day, I wish you, dear Shavkat Miromonovich, good health, inexhaustible strength and energy, family happiness, and new victories in your responsible state activities for the well-being of the fraternal Uzbek people,” the message reads.

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov:

Japarov emphasized that the reforms initiated by Mirziyoyev—improving public administration and the judicial system, creating greater opportunities for youth and women, developing the regions, and strengthening ties with neighboring states—are yielding tangible results.

“Dear Shavkat Miromonovich! I sincerely congratulate you on your birthday! Thanks to your far-sighted and firm leadership, Uzbekistan has achieved significant changes in the economic, social, and political spheres, and has significantly strengthened its position in the international arena,” Japarov stated.

He expressed confidence that the close and friendly relations between the fraternal peoples, as well as comprehensive cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, will continue to strengthen.

“I wish you, dear Shavkat Miromonovich, good health, inexhaustible energy, long life, family happiness, great victories in your responsible activities, and peace and prosperity for the fraternal people of Uzbekistan,” the Kyrgyz leader said.

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon:

Rahmon also sent heartfelt birthday wishes to Mirziyoyev, highlighting their close personal ties and mutual efforts to enhance regional cooperation.

“Dear Shavkat Miromonovich! I sincerely congratulate you on your birthday! My dear brother, please accept my best wishes on this auspicious date in your life. I wish you good health, a long and happy life surrounded by your loved ones, as well as inexhaustible energy and great victories in implementing all your plans and initiatives for the prosperity of the fraternal people of Uzbekistan,” Rahmon said.

He expressed deep appreciation for Mirziyoyev’s contribution to developing regional cooperation based on friendship, mutual respect, and trust.

“I would like to note with pleasure our consistent efforts to develop friendly relations and constructive cooperation, strengthened by the historical closeness of the peoples of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. I also value our close personal relations based on deep trust.

I would like to emphasize that the Tajik side is always interested in continuing close cooperation to further strengthen the strategic and allied partnership between our countries, both bilaterally and multilaterally,” Rahmon concluded.

For reference, Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev was born on July 24, 1957, in the Zamin district of Jizzakh region into a family of doctors. He graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers in 1981 with a degree in mechanical engineering and holds the title of Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor.

He began his career at the same institute as a junior research associate, later becoming senior lecturer, associate professor, and vice-rector for academic affairs. In 1990, he was elected a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic, simultaneously serving on the Mandate Commission.

He began his career in 1981 at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers, where he worked as a junior researcher, senior lecturer, associate professor, and later vice-rector for academic affairs.

In 1990, he was elected a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic, simultaneously serving as chairman of the Mandate Commission. Two years later, in 1992, he was appointed khokim of the Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent. From 1996 to 2001, he served as khokim of the Jizzakh region, and from 2001 to 2003, he headed the Samarkand region, making a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of these territories.

In parallel with his executive roles, from 1995 to 2003, as a deputy of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, he actively participated in drafting and adopting important legislative acts aimed at the country’s political, socio-economic development and the implementation of democratic reforms.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev was confirmed as Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2003 and was re-confirmed to this position three more times—in 2005, 2010, and 2015—by the chambers of the Oliy Majlis.

He went on to win the presidential elections in 2016, 2021, and 2023, becoming the President of Uzbekistan.

Earlier, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and his father, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, sent birthday congratulations to the Uzbek leader. In his message, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that Shavkat Mirziyoyev is making a significant contribution to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries. Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized his special attention to relations with Uzbekistan.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev highlighted that, thanks to Mirziyoyev’s policies, Uzbekistan has developed comprehensively, achieved notable successes in all sectors, strengthened its economic potential, and gained high prestige in the international arena. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also expressed his commitment to further strengthening cooperation with Uzbekistan.
