Malaysia breaks protocol to host President Mirziyoyev with high respect

Malaysian officials departed from strict protocol rules to hold sincere meetings with President Mirziyoyev, demonstrating high respect and trust. This was reported by Presidential Spokesperson Sherzod Asadov.
“Based on my diplomatic experience and work as a press secretary, I can say that the sincere relations and informal dialogue between the leaders of the two countries left a very vivid impression. We witnessed that the leadership of this beautiful and hospitable country departed from strict protocol rules to hold sincere meetings with our President, showing high respect and trust,” Asadov said.
According to him, the arrival of the Speaker of the Malaysian Parliament to welcome the President was an unprecedented event in the protocol practices of this country. Additionally, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim accompanied President Shavkat Mirziyoyev throughout the day, at all official events and meetings.
“He even personally visited the residence allocated to the President of Uzbekistan to continue the dialogue. Then they drove together in the same car to the Petronas headquarters, where they met with the company’s management,” the President’s press secretary said.
Asadov also noted that it was a special gesture of attention that Malaysian artists, along with their rich history and culture, presented a concert program of Uzbek people’s songs and dances at the official reception organized in honor of the President of Uzbekistan.
“Such an informal and sincere relationship testifies to the close friendship between the two leaders, the high respect of the peoples of Uzbekistan and Malaysia for each other, and the bright prospects of bilateral relations,” Asadov said.
It should be recalled that the President of Uzbekistan arrived in Malaysia on an official visit yesterday evening, February 4. At Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the head of state was met by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Malaysian Parliament, Johari bin Abdul, Minister of Education, Zambri Abdulkadir, and other officials. The President met with the Speaker of the Malaysian Parliament at the airport. Today, February 5, an official welcoming ceremony for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was held at the Perdana Putra government complex in Kuala Lumpur. Here, Mirziyoyev and Ibrahim held talks in a narrow circle and with the participation of official delegations. At the end of the talks, the President of Uzbekistan and the Prime Minister of Malaysia signed a joint statement on deepening bilateral cooperation through a strategic partnership. Mirziyoyev also visited the Malaysian Museum of Islamic Arts, where Uzbek craftsmen participated in the decoration and restoration of the interior of the dome.
