The prestigious Tata Steel Chess-2023 chess tournament is underway in the Dutch city of Wijk an Zee. The 8th round of the tournament ended on 23 January.

Among the world’s top chess masters, Uzbek grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov, who entered the contests in the “Masters” group, signed a draw against the American Levon Aronian in the 8th round. Thus, Abdusattorov is in the lead after collecting 6 points out of 8 opportunities.

In the 8th round of the “Challenger” group, another representative of Uzbekistan, Javahir Sindorov, who played against Mustafa Yilmaz from Turkey, lost the opportunity to his opponent. Having collected 5 points out of 8 opportunities, Sindorov occupies the 4th place in the group.
