US Ambassador warns Uzbeks (video)

US Ambassador to Uzbekistan Jonathan Henick has urged Uzbeks in the United States illegally to return home. His appeal was published by the US Embassy in Tashkent on its social media pages.

According to the ambassador, over the past few years, many Uzbeks have entered the United States through dangerous routes across Central America. As a result, there are approximately thousands of Uzbeks in the United States illegally.

“Frankly, I would advise these individuals to return to Uzbekistan of their own free will, because otherwise they could be arrested or deported in the United States,” the ambassador said.

It is worth noting that in early March, it was announced that the United States was deporting Uzbek immigrants who were in the country illegally to Panama. Following this, the Uzbek Embassy submitted a request to the US government regarding those deported to Panama.

Later, as a result of negotiations with the US side, 7 Uzbeks who were scheduled to be sent to Costa Rica but intended to return to Uzbekistan were returned to Uzbekistan via the New York-Tashkent route.

It should be recalled that earlier, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Uzbekistan, Konstantin Obolensky, issued a warning to this country due to the increase in applications related to fake job offers and fake work permits. The Ambassador recommended that if you receive a job offer, be very careful and check its authenticity, to make sure that you are in direct contact with a potential employer in Switzerland.
