Ukraine’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Mykola Doroshenko, has completed his diplomatic mission in Tashkent, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov reported on his Telegram channel.
Doroshenko and Saidov met at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “We received Ukraine’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Mykola Doroshenko, who concluded his mission to Uzbekistan at the MFA today,” said Saidov.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on pressing issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda. The strong positive dynamics in the trade volume between Uzbekistan and Ukraine were particularly noted.
Saidov also expressed gratitude to his Ukrainian counterpart, wishing him success in his future activities. “We express our gratitude to the ambassador for his efforts over the years to strengthen relations between our countries and wish him great success in his future endeavors,” Saidov wrote.
Mykola Doroshenko has served as Ukraine’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Uzbekistan since July 2020. He presented copies of his credentials to the then-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Komilov, on July 1, 2020. Like other newly appointed ambassadors to Uzbekistan, Doroshenko presented his credentials to the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the Koksaroy presidential palace on October 16, 2020.
During his tenure, Uzbekistan sent humanitarian aid to Ukraine several times, and Ukrainian children spent their summer holidays at camps in Uzbekistan.
It is worth noting that Doroshenko had earlier written about the end of his mission to Uzbekistan on his Facebook page. The ambassador expressed gratitude to everyone for their cooperation and support of Ukraine and gave special thanks to his spouse, Natalia Doroshenko, for her unwavering support and assistance.
