91 people died in Tashkent road accidents last year

In 2024, 91 road accidents ended in death in Tashkent. This was stated in the relevant resolution of the Tashkent City Council of People's Deputies adopted on February 10 of this year.

It was reported that in 2024, 1,280 road accidents occurred in Tashkent, of which 1,189 resulted in serious consequences, such as injuries, and 91 resulted in death. Also, 720 pedestrian accidents and 98 speed-related road accidents were recorded.

For information, 95 people died in traffic accidents on the streets of the capital in 2023. 10 of the deceased were children. As a result of traffic accidents, 1,248 people were injured, and 10 people became permanently disabled. 235 of the injured were children.

In 2022, 1,200 road accidents occurred in the capital. During the reporting period, 136 people died as a result of traffic accidents, and 1,463 were injured.

We would like to remind you that earlier, at the third plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Chairman of the Committee on Defense and Security, Senator Qutbiddin Burhonov, reported that in 2024, 9,364 road accidents occurred in Uzbekistan, resulting in 2,203 deaths and 8,901 injuries.
