Today, November 26, Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met with Israeli Ambassador to Uzbekistan Gideon Lustig at the Foreign Ministry and expressed condolences over the killing of Jewish rabbi Svi Kogan in the United Arab Emirates. He reported this on his social media pages.

“We express our deep condolences over the death of Svi Kogan. The people of Uzbekistan have always been friendly towards representatives of all religions and nationalities. We have not tolerated and will not tolerate any manifestations of nationalism,” Saidov wrote.

The minister noted that terrorism and extremism have no borders or nationalities. The government of Uzbekistan is closely cooperating with the UAE and Israeli authorities in the investigation.

It should be recalled that earlier the United Arab Emirates confirmed that the three people arrested on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Rabbi Svi Kogan, a citizen of Israel and Moldova, are citizens of Uzbekistan. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Dubai and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Abu Dhabi stated that they are in constant contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant departments of the United Arab Emirates and are conducting relevant work to clarify this issue.
