Fifty-six percent of the permanent population in Uzbekistan is considered to be of working age, according to the National Statistics Committee.
The composition of the permanent population by age group is as follows:
- Under working age: 12.1 million people (32.1 percent);
- Working age: 21.1 million people (56 percent);
- Over working age: 4.5 million people (11.9 percent).
It should be noted that as of April 1 of this year, the permanent population of Uzbekistan was reported to be 37.7 million people, marking a 2 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024.
