Uzbekistan advance to quarterfinals after 3–0 victory over hosts

9826In the third round of Group "A" at the AFC U-17 Asian Cup currently taking place in Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan’s national team claimed a decisive 3–0 victory over the host nation.
All three goals were scored in the second half, with Jamshidbek Rustamov netting a brace and Asilbek Aliyev adding another to secure the win. With this result, head coach Islam Ismailov’s side finished first in the group and advanced to the quarterfinals.
During the match, Saudi Arabia missed a penalty opportunity, failing to capitalize on a chance to shift momentum.
With three wins from three matches, the "White Wolves" topped Group "A" with a perfect nine points. In the quarterfinals, Uzbekistan will face the team that finishes second in Group "B". As of now, the United Arab Emirates holds second place in that group.
The quarterfinal match is scheduled for April 14 in the city of Taif, with kickoff set for 22:15 Tashkent time.
