President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, plays an important role in the new geostrategic initiative of US President Joe Biden. "Forbes" writes about it.

Author Melik Kaylan analyzed the new geostrategic initiative of President Joe Biden and paid special attention to the role of President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in this process.

Kaylan noted that Mirziyoyev has become a central figure in efforts to integrate the countries of Central Asia by promoting the opening of businesses, borders, and trade in the region.

The article also emphasizes that under the leadership of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan is striving to become a major transport center connecting the East and the West, the North and the South.

"Uzbekistan is currently conducting negotiations on joining the WTO. The US must significantly expedite this process. Under the Trump administration, a very promising initiative for the region called the DFC (Development Finance Corporation) was launched to support business loans. Unfortunately, it has stalled under Biden's leadership. It should be revived," the article states.

In addition, the text addresses the issue of the "Jackson-Venick" amendment, adopted in the USA in 1974, and notes that its repeal could help normalize trade relations between the USA and Central Asian countries.

We remind you that the first summit of leaders from the Central Asian countries and the United States of America in the "C5+1" format was held earlier. It was attended by the Presidents of the USA, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
