In the Namangan region, a collision between a businessman and an electricity supply inspector has resulted in the theft of electricity valued at 116.9 million soums, according to a statement from the General Prosecutor's Office.

The individual entrepreneur, identified as S. Sh., operating in the Chust district, allegedly conspired with district electricity supply inspector Yu.M. to illegally connect a water pump on his cultivated land to the electric network without a meter and a signed contract. This unauthorized connection enabled them to steal approximately 43,000 kWh of electricity for commercial purposes.

In response to these actions, S. Sh. has been charged under Article 169 (theft) of the Criminal Code, Part 2, Clause "d." Meanwhile, the electricity supply inspector Yu.M. faces charges under Article 169, Part 2, Clause "ye" of the Criminal Code. Both suspects have been detained as part of the ongoing investigation.

This incident follows previous reports of gas filling stations in Tashkent city and the Samarkand region being implicated in the theft of energy resources worth 4.8 billion soums. Authorities are increasing their scrutiny of illegal energy use and collaborating with law enforcement to combat such crimes.
