2263Some entrepreneurs and legal entities in Uzbekistan will be exempt from paying state duties under certain conditions. This is outlined in the Law "On Amendments and Supplements to the Law 'On State Duty,'" signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on January 13.
According to the amendment, business entities and other legal entities will not be required to pay state duties for re-registration when their location (postal address) changes due to the formation or liquidation of administrative-territorial units, changes to their borders, or shifts in subordination.
Additionally, the law introduces exemptions for policyholders filing claims under compulsory insurance contracts. Policyholders—including insured individuals, beneficiaries, and victims—will not have to pay state duties for such claims in civil or economic courts.
These exemptions aim to reduce the financial burden on businesses and individuals involved in these specific circumstances.
The law will take effect upon its official publication.
It is also noteworthy that during a presentation on January 11, President Mirziyoyev proposed exempting entrepreneurs who establish high-tech production facilities from profit and property taxes for three years, further demonstrating the government’s commitment to fostering innovation and economic development.
