Prevention inspector stabbed in Kashkadarya

A man stabbed a prevention inspector in the Kashkadarya region after the inspector attempted to intervene in a family quarrel, according to the press service of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The incident occurred in Kamashi district, where a dispute between a husband and wife escalated. The woman expressed her desire to leave her husband and return home, but the husband resisted, holding their child in his arms and threatening to kill both himself and the child if his wife left.

The woman contacted the police for assistance, and several prevention inspectors responded to the scene. As they tried to disarm the man and take the knife from his hand, he stabbed one of the officers in the back. The injured officer was taken to the hospital for treatment.

“I am in good health now, thanks to the doctors' assistance,” said the injured officer.

Relevant documentation has been filed and sent to the Kamashi district prosecutor's office. According to Hayot Shamsutdinov, press secretary of the Prosecutor General's Office, a criminal case has been initiated against the man under Article 219 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to resistance against a government representative or a person performing their civil duty. The suspect has been detained, and investigations are ongoing.

It is also worth noting that on April 14, 2024, a "site guard" was stabbed in Tashkent. The injured prevention inspector was taken to the hospital and received medical care.
