Today, on November 15, the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan held a joint briefing for the media at the Kuksaroy residence, during which Tokayev spoke about relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the people of Uzbekistan for the warm hospitality shown to the Kazakh delegation.
’’Kazakhs and Uzbeks have long been brotherly peoples with shared roots and friendly neighbors. Our way of life, traditions, culture, mentality, and languages are similar in many respects. Our historical paths are closely intertwined. Thanks to these sacred values, bilateral relations are developing at unprecedented speed. High-level, constructive, and active political dialogue has been established between our countries, and trade and economic ties are strengthening year by year,’’ Tokayev said.
He noted that large-scale investment projects with significant potential are being implemented in the industrial sector. Expanding interregional cooperation, ensuring security and stability, and deepening cultural and humanitarian ties between the two nations are given special attention. Tokayev emphasized that the main purpose of this visit is to strengthen friendship and good-neighborly relations between the brotherly peoples, open new horizons for cooperation, and elevate Kazakh–Uzbek relations to a qualitatively new level.
According to Tokayev, the agreements reached fully reflect the genuine interests of the two peoples and demonstrate the strength of Kazakh–Uzbek friendship, good-neighborliness, strategic partnership, and alliance.
’’As President of Kazakhstan, I consider it my priority to develop multifaceted cooperation with Uzbekistan. I want to emphasize that despite the claims of various so-called ‘experts,’ Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are by no means rivals or competitors. Rather, we are strategic partners and trusted allies. Both people are true brothers, close friends, and regard each other with mutual respect,’’ Tokayev said.
He noted that under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s strong leadership, Uzbekistan has achieved significant results across numerous sectors and is recognized internationally as a successfully developing country.
’’The results of wide-ranging reforms are clearly reflected in stable economic growth, increased public welfare, rapid urban development, and the qualitative advancement of all sectors. Uzbekistan has significantly strengthened its influence on the international stage and contributes meaningfully to regional and global security cooperation. In Kazakhstan, we sincerely celebrate the achievements of our brotherly Uzbek people,’’ Tokayev added.
