Gianni Infantino, the president of the International Football Federation (FIFA), expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Uzbekistan for successfully hosting the FIFA Futsal World Championship on his official social media page.
"I would like to thank the entire Uzbek people, particularly President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, and the Football Association of Uzbekistan led by Abdusalam Azizov. You have welcomed the world into your beautiful country and made everyone feel at home. You are true winners," stated Infantino.
For context, Uzbekistan hosted the World Championship matches from September 14 to October 6 in three cities: Tashkent, Andijan, and Bukhara. The tournament concluded with the decisive match held at Humo Arena in the capital. A total of 24 national teams participated, and the Brazilian team emerged victorious, claiming the World Cup title for the sixth time in its history.
