Father stabs son to death in Fergana

A 72-year-old father fatally stabbed his 41-year-old son in the Fergana region. Hayot Shamsutdinov, the press secretary of the General Prosecutor's Office, informed KALAMPIR.UZ about the incident.

The tragic event occurred on September 1 at around 17:00 in the "Toshobod" neighborhood of the Altiarik district. The father, identified as N.N., born in 1952, had a heated argument with his son, O.N., born in 1983, in their living room. During the altercation, N.N. armed himself with a kitchen knife and intentionally stabbed his son once in the upper left side of the chest, inflicting a severe injury.

As a result, O.N. succumbed to his injuries in the intensive care unit of the Altiarik District Medical Association.

On September 2, the Altiariq District Prosecutor's Office initiated a criminal case against N.N. under part 1 of Article 97 of the Criminal Code. The suspect, N.N., has been detained in accordance with Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

It is worth noting that a similar incident occurred earlier in the Dangara district of the Fergana region, where a citizen with restricted freedom fatally stabbed an internal affairs officer who was performing his duty.
