On April 2, in Kokand, Fergana region, four members of a family tragically died from carbon monoxide poisoning. This was confirmed by Hayot Shamsutdinov, the press secretary of the Prosecutor General’s Office, in response to a query from QALAMPIR.UZ.

Among the deceased were three underage children and their mother. The father is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the unfortunate incident occurred due to rainwater accumulating in the chimney, leading to the release of carbon monoxide.

Shamsutdinov added that pre-investigation checks are being conducted regarding the case.

It’s worth noting that similar incidents have occurred before. In one case, a family in Bo‘stonliq district, Tashkent region, also succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning.
