3318Electricity will now be produced by burning solid household waste in Tashkent city, Andijan, Namangan, Fergana, Tashkent, Kashkadarya, and Samarkand regions. This is stated in the relevant resolutions of the President adopted on March 24.
According to these resolutions, electricity will be produced in these regions by improving the environmental situation, introducing modern solutions and technologies in the waste processing sector, and attracting direct investments in the sector.
It is noted that investors and project companies will ensure the commissioning of equipment with the following production capacity in 2025-2027:
-In Tashkent region, 390 million kW of electricity will be generated by thermally processing 2.5 thousand tons of waste per day.
-In Andijan region, 240 million kW of electricity will be generated by thermally processing 1.5 thousand tons of waste per day.
-In Kashkadarya region, 240 million kW of electricity will be generated by thermally processing 1.5 thousand tons of waste per day.
-In Samarkand region, 240 million kW of electricity will be generated by thermally processing 1.5 thousand tons of waste per day.
-In Namangan region, 227.5 million kW of electricity will be generated by thermally processing 1.5 thousand tons of waste per day.
-In Fergana region, 227.5 million kW of electricity will be generated by thermally processing 1.5 thousand tons of waste per day.
It should be recalled that earlier it was reported that a Chinese company planned to build a waste processing plant worth 120 million US dollars in Tashkent region. This project envisaged the production of electricity by harmlessly burning 4 thousand tons of waste.
