Authorities in the Samarkand region have filed a criminal case against a man accused of beating his 6-year-old stepson with a belt, as reported by the Children's Ombudsman.
On June 23, a man born in 1988, residing in the Toyloq district and married to T.D. since 2024, allegedly assaulted his stepson in the yard of their apartment. The following day, June 24, an investigation commenced, revealing that the boy, referred to as O.E., sustained injuries, prompting a forensic examination. During a medical assessment by the Toyloq district association, the man was found to exhibit psychological changes and was subsequently admitted to the psychiatric hospital in the Samarkand region.
On June 28, a criminal case was officially initiated under Article 110, Part 2, Clause "a" (Torture) of the Criminal Code. A preliminary investigation is currently in progress.
