2899President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev jointly visited the digital technologies and artificial intelligence exhibition "AlmatyFair.ai" on March 29. This was reported by the presidential press service.
The heads of state were briefed on advanced solutions and innovative developments in the field. A presentation was held on the "Alem.ai" artificial intelligence center, which is being established at the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan.
"Alem.ai is a platform for training specialists in artificial intelligence, launching startups, and conducting scientific research," the report states.
The leaders also reviewed the activities of the largest association of technoparks in Central Asia—"Central Asian Innovation Hubs"—which includes "Astana Hub" and "IT Park Uzbekistan." Last year, major technoparks from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan united under this brand to develop the startup ecosystem and promote innovations in the global market.
The presidents emphasized the importance of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in digitalization, creating joint IT products, and aligning national strategies in artificial intelligence and advanced information technologies.
They were also introduced to the National Artificial Intelligence Platform, designed to optimize the activities of government agencies, and the AI-SANA educational program, which aims to harness AI’s potential in the national economy and support technological entrepreneurship.
It should be recalled that Mirziyoyev arrived in Kazakhstan on a working visit on March 29. He was welcomed at Almaty Airport by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The two leaders later visited the Medeu ski cluster, where Mirziyoyev was briefed on the history and architectural features of the Medeu dam, built at an altitude of 1,750 meters above sea level to protect against mudflows.
Following this, the presidents held an informal meeting in Almaty. With the participation of delegations from both countries, they thoroughly discussed ways to strengthen Uzbek-Kazakh good-neighborly relations, strategic partnership, and alliance.
