Uzbek and Kazakh leaders set to discuss key bilateral cooperation

2937The president of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, arrived in Kazakhstan today, March 29, on a working visit. This was reported by Akorda.
The high-ranking guest was welcomed at Almaty Airport by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
In honor of the Uzbek leader, a guard of honor was lined up, and the national flags of both countries were raised.
According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, an informal meeting between the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan will take place today. The agenda includes discussions on expanding practical cooperation in trade, industrial collaboration, transport and logistics, energy, agriculture, and water management, as well as continuing active regional connections and cultural-humanitarian exchanges.
The heads of state will also exchange views on international politics and regional cooperation.
Additionally, the Presidents are expected to visit several locations in Almaty.
On March 3, 2023, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan held an unexpected informal meeting in Shymkent, rather than in Astana or Tashkent. Their next meeting took place on April 5, 2024, in Khorezm.
