Mirziyoyev arrives Kazakhstan

On May 30, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Kazakhstan for a working visit, according to the presidential press service.

Upon arrival at Astana International Airport, President Mirziyoyev was welcomed by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Oljas Bektenov and other high-ranking officials.

During his visit, the Uzbek leader will take part in the "Central Asia – Italy" summit, which is set to bring together the heads of Central Asian states and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

According to the summit agenda, discussions will focus on strengthening multifaceted cooperation, with particular attention to green economy initiatives, investment, innovation, science, and education.

It is worth noting that prior to the summit, Prime Minister Meloni paid an official visit to Uzbekistan on May 28. She was personally received by President Mirziyoyev at the Samarkand International Airport. The two leaders visited Registan Square and the “Immortal City” historical and ethnographic park at the Silk Road Samarkand International Tourism Center. An official welcoming ceremony for Giorgia Meloni was held in Samarkand on May 29, followed by bilateral talks with President Mirziyoyev at the Samarkand Congress Center.
