Colonel Shavkat Rakhmonov, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Head of the Rapid Investigation Department, has been dismissed. The news was reported by QALAMPIR.UZ, citing its sources.
The reason for Rakhmonov's dismissal has not been disclosed.
Rakhmonov was appointed to this position in February 2023. Prior to this, he headed the internal affairs departments of Namangan and Samarkand regions.
His dismissal follows the recent departure of Pulat Bobojanov, who had served as Minister of Internal Affairs since 2017. On March 3, Aziz Toshpulatov, former head of the Tashkent city main internal affairs department, was appointed as the new Minister of Internal Affairs.
