Uncle receives prison sentence for sexually abusing nieces

A man who sexually assaulted his nieces was arrested in Kazakhstan, according to the Children's Ombudsman.

A report indicates that A.A., born in 2000, committed the assaults on June 6 of this year. A woman, who had lost both her parents, reported that her younger sisters, I.A., born in 2006, and S.R., born in 2012, were placed under the guardianship of their uncle, R.R., who took them to Kazakhstan. She claimed that R.R. was committing incident acts against the girls.

The woman requested legal action against the uncle for the sexual abuse and sought to have her sisters returned to Uzbekistan. She also asked for assistance in being appointed their legal guardian, as she is their closest relative.

On June 8, the police and child protection authorities removed I.A. and S.R. from the man's house and placed them in a support center for children in Almaty. Law enforcement detained R.R. and initiated a criminal case against him under Article 121, Part 3-1, Clause 1 ( acts of sexual violence) of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan.

On June 17, the court imposed a preventive measure against R.R. Currently, I.A., a minor, is under consideration for the appointment of a guardian. Measures are being taken to return I.A. to Uzbekistan once the investigation concludes.

It was previously reported that an Uzbek man was arrested for committing sexual acts against minors in Russia.
