10931The area chosen for the implementation of the "New Tashkent" project is 500 meters above sea level and is considered unique due to its proximity to the city, its climate, weather, and its location between two rivers. Today, 18 March, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev mentioned this in his speech at the ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the construction of the project.
Current Tashkent covers an area of 43,000 hectares. Within the framework of the "New Tashkent" project, an additional 20,000 hectares will create comfortable living conditions for 1 million people and provide them with appropriate infrastructure.
In particular, in the first phase, apartment buildings for 60,000 residents, 30 schools, 20 kindergartens, a multidisciplinary hospital, and 5 family polyclinics will be built.
The new University of Uzbekistan, the new buildings of the National Library, theaters, creative schools, and trade and service centers will also be located here.Gradually, state offices will also move to New Tashkent.
Hotels, service, and trade facilities will be opened in place of their current buildings, and Tashkent will become a modern tourism and business center.
