2747On October 27, Uzbekistan will hold elections for deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and local councils. Preparations are already underway, with not just political parties and the Central Election Commission involved, but also the citizens themselves.
To gauge public readiness, QALAMPIR.UZ posed several questions to the population: Do Uzbeks know how many political parties exist in the country? Are they familiar with the deputies they are electing, and are they satisfied with their performance?
Responses varied among the participants. While some individuals were aware of the number of parties, they struggled to name them all. Others could name specific parties and express familiarity with their activities. However, a notable number of respondents were unaware of the parties altogether.
Additionally, some participants voiced dissatisfaction with their elected deputies, highlighting many unresolved issues facing the nation. When asked whether they intended to vote, opinions were divided. Some answered "yes," while others expressed skepticism, suggesting that elections do not bring about meaningful change and indicating a lack of confidence in the electoral process.
So, how many parties are there in Uzbekistan? This question reflects the broader sentiment of the electorate as the country prepares for its upcoming elections.
