Tashkent court rules in favor of worker denied wages for nearly two years

In the Tashkent region, a worker employed as a concrete worker for 21 months did not receive his wages. This was reported by the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman).

According to the report, the individual, identified as I.P., has been working at “Ohangaronshifer” AJ since 2002. Between March 2023 and December 2024, he did not receive his salary for the said period. Seeking to restore his labor rights, the worker approached the Ombudsman for assistance.

The case was taken under review, relevant documents were examined, and a lawsuit was filed in court on behalf of the worker. The court ruled in favor of the worker, ordering the payment of wages, compensation for delayed payment, and moral damages, amounting to a total of 93.4 million UZS. Additionally, the employer was instructed to pay 1.8 million UZS for expert costs to the Uzbekistan Association of Labor Protection and Industrial Safety Specialists, as well as a 4 million UZS state duty.
