10884Rumors about the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation's potential departure from the International Boxing Association (IBA) have circulated on social media. The head coach of the Uzbekistan national boxing team addressed these rumors in an interview with "Sports.kz."
"It is not my responsibility to resolve such matters; I am the head coach of the team. This decision will be made by our federation. I have no comment on this issue. My role is to train the boxers. I will follow whatever directives our leadership provides to prepare the team," stated Tulkin Kilichev during his interview.
For context, the number of member countries in the World Boxing organization, established as an alternative to the IBA, has reached 42. To gain recognition by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the organization must include members from at least 50 countries across three regions.
It is also noteworthy that earlier reports indicated that the head coach of the Uzbekistan boxing team, Tulkin Kilichev, suffered a heart attack following Hasanboy Dusmatov's Olympic victory at the "Roland Garros" arena in Paris.
