10591The residence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ambassador in Khartoum was recently attacked by the Sudanese army, an act deemed unacceptable by Uzbekistan. Ahror Burkhanov, press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, responded to a media query regarding the incident.
"Any actions that endanger the lives and safety of diplomatic mission members are unacceptable," Burkhanov wrote on his Telegram channel.
He further emphasized the importance of maintaining the sanctity of diplomatic missions and strictly adhering to the rules that govern diplomatic activities.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that on September 30, a Sudanese Air Force plane targeted the UAE ambassador's residence, causing significant damage to the building. However, the Sudanese army denied the allegations, stating that no diplomatic missions had been hit and that only areas controlled by the Rapid Action Forces were targeted.
It’s worth noting that Uzbekistan previously condemned an Israeli airstrike in April this year, which damaged the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria.
