Individuals were arrested for smuggling drugs from Tajikistan

Drugs imported from Russia, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan have been intercepted, according to the State Security Service.

A citizen of Tajikistan, born in 1995, conspired with two individuals born in 1992 and 2005, residing in the Urgut district of Samarkand region. They were apprehended by the Border Troops of the State Security Service while transporting 20 kg and 749 grams of opium from Tajikistan into Uzbekistan.

In a separate case, a LADA Largus vehicle driven by a 37-year-old resident of Peshku district in Bukhara region was intercepted by the Border Troops of Kazakhstan at the Davut-ota border customs post. The vehicle, which was entering Uzbekistan from Russia via Kazakhstan, was found to contain 18 kg and 97 grams of the synthetic narcotic substance "Mephedrone," hidden inside two loudspeakers imported from Moscow.

During a preliminary investigation, it was discovered that the driver had been transporting passengers between Uzbekistan and Russia using his personal vehicle.

Additionally, a joint operation by the Fergana regional department and customs authorities revealed that a resident of the Fergana district, born in 1981 and previously convicted of drug-related crimes, and another individual born in 1995, previously convicted of theft, conspired to hide 56,000 units of the powerful drug "Regapen," smuggled from Kyrgyzstan, in their residence. The search also uncovered an additional 6,780 pieces of "Zardeks" drugs.

Furthermore, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications for the Syrdarya region, in collaboration with customs authorities, conducted an operation in the Yakkasaroy district of Tashkent city. During the inspection of a Nexia vehicle belonging to a 1985-born resident of Bulungur district in Samarkand region, and his rented apartment in Yakkasaray district, a total of 43,666 units of "Regapen" were found. These drugs were also smuggled from Kyrgyzstan.

Criminal cases have been initiated against the individuals involved, and investigations are ongoing.
