Drug trafficking from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan was halted

2844The State Security Service (SSS) reported the capture of individuals involved in the sale of drugs imported from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. These operations were conducted in collaboration with customs and internal affairs authorities.
Lower Chirchik District: Two Tashkent residents, born in 1992 and 1998, were found with 1.834 kg of hashish, reportedly left in a hidden location by Tajik drug couriers.
Orta Chirchik District: A previously convicted passenger in a Nexia car traveling from Surkhandarya to Tashkent was caught with 1 kg of hashish hidden in the car doors. They had planned to sell the drug after receiving it in Surkhandarya.
Zangiota District: Three men from the Denov and Sariosiyo districts were stopped with 985 grams of hashish in a Nexia car. Investigation revealed that this substance was smuggled in by Tajik drug couriers.
Ohangaron District: Three individuals from Yangiyol were apprehended returning from Kokand with 168 grams of hashish and 722 units of "Regapen" (a strong drug), purchased from an unidentified dealer. These substances reportedly originated from Kyrgyzstan.
Ohangaron City: A Lacetti car traveling on the Fergana-Tashkent route was stopped. Inside, an inspector from the Transport Control Inspection and two convicted passengers were found with 826 units of "Regapen." They reportedly purchased the drugs from a Kokand resident for 22.5 million soums.
Criminal cases have been opened against the suspects in all incidents, with imprisonment applied as a preventive measure.
Previously, in October, authorities confiscated 47.2 kg of narcotics trafficked from Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
