2981On December 13, Kyrgyz President Sadir Japarov presented Uzbek Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov with the honorary title of "People’s Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic," according to the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan.
“Our peoples are united by centuries-old ties of friendship and good neighborliness. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, bilateral relations have reached a new level, and culture plays an important role in strengthening this cooperation,” Japarov stated during the award ceremony.
President Japarov also highlighted the significance of the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan, which are scheduled to be held in Kyrgyzstan in 2025. He expressed hope that the event would serve as a vital step in furthering the bond between the two nations.
In awarding the honorary title, Japarov emphasized Nazarbekov's role in developing cultural ties and strengthening the friendship between the countries.
“Your creative path inspires many. The musical evening with your participation, which will be held on December 15 at the Toktogul Satilganov National Philharmonic of Kyrgyzstan, will be another vivid example of our common cultural unity,” said Japarov.
This is not the first time that Nazarbekov has been recognized with honorary titles in neighboring countries. In April of this year, he was awarded the title of People’s Commissar of Tajikistan. In 2020, he received the title of Honored Artist of Turkmenistan from then-President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Additionally, Nazarbekov was awarded the Order of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Dostlik" ("Friendship"), second degree, for his contribution to enhancing cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The award was presented by Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Beybut Atamkulov, on behalf of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
