Earthquake occurs in Tashkent

On October 19, a minor earthquake occurred in the Tashkent region during the night, as reported by the Republican Center for Seismological Prognostic Monitoring.

The earthquake struck at 01:32 local time, with coordinates of 41.03 degrees north latitude and 69.39 degrees east longitude. The magnitude was recorded at 3.6, with a depth of 10 km. The epicenter was located in the Orta Chirchik district, 30 km southeast of Tashkent.

The earthquake was felt as follows:

  • 2 points in Nurafshan city, 4 km from the epicenter.
  • 2 points in Orta Chirchik district, 8 km away.

This comes shortly after a 5.8 magnitude earthquake in Afghanistan on October 16, which was also felt in parts of Uzbekistan.
