Individual causes nearly 200 million sums of environmental damage in Tashkent

3785In Yangiyol district of Tashkent region, a person who cut down one maple tree and intentionally damaged another has caused environmental damage amounting to more than 199 million sums. This information was provided by the Regional Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.
According to the department, inspectors carried out environmental monitoring in the Yangiyol district, where they discovered that a mature maple tree had been cut from the base and another was deliberately damaged on Khalkabod Street in the "Uzbekistan" MFY. Following a rapid investigation, officials identified the offender as citizen K.D., a resident of Gavhar Street in Tashkent’s Chilonzor District. K.D.'s actions were in violation of the law "On the Protection and Use of Flora," resulting in substantial harm to the environment.
Documentation of the offense has been completed and forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office of Tashkent region for legal evaluation and appropriate action.
Earlier, a citizen in the Toyloq district of Samarkand region was fined over 71 million sums for cutting down a mulberry tree.
