Fatal road accident occurs in Tashkent

A Nexia-3 crashed into a roadside concrete barrier in Tashkent’s Sergeli district today, May 22. The capital’s Traffic Safety Department reported this.

According to the department, at around 1:00 p.m., a driver born in 2001 was driving a Nexia-3 at high speed near house No. 60 on Fayzli Toshkent Street in Sergeli district when he lost control and crashed into a concrete roadside post.

As a result of the accident, a passenger in the Nexia-3 died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. First aid was provided to the driver.

A criminal case has been opened by the Investigation Department of the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs under Article 266, Part 2 of the Criminal Code, which covers violation of traffic safety or vehicle operation rules. Investigative actions are ongoing.

Earlier, a 10-year-old girl died in Kokand, Fergana region, after being hit by a Malibu-2 driven by an underage driver.
