A person in Tashkent was detained for attempting to defraud a citizen by promising to secure a job for them in the United States in exchange for $40,000. The individual, identified as N.M., was apprehended during a joint operation conducted by the Chilonzor District Department of the Prosecutor General's Office and the State Security Service.

N.M. allegedly convinced B.G., the victim, that he could obtain a U.S. visa through his high-level connections, charging $40,000 for the opportunity to work in the United States. The arrest was made when N.M. received the money from B.G. as part of the fraudulent arrangement.

A criminal case has been initiated under Articles 168 (fraud) and 28, 211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, and further investigations are underway.

This case is part of ongoing efforts to combat fraud and illegal recruitment practices. Previously, law enforcement in Samarkand arrested a father and son for attempting to extort $22,000 from citizens by promising jobs in the U.S., and they were caught during a raid while receiving a part of the payment.
