As of July 10, the level of air pollution in Tashkent is almost 5 times higher than the norm recommended by the World Health Organization.  Information on this is recorded on the IQAir portal, which operates in real time.

As of July 10 at 11:30, the concentration of PM2.5 in the capital’s air is almost 5 times higher than the annual air quality standard recommended by WHO.  This level of air pollution (AQI 78) is rated as “moderate”, groups that are vulnerable to pollution in such weather: people with lung disease, the elderly and children, wearing face masks when moving outside, closing windows  , it is recommended to reduce outdoor activities.

In the capital of Uzbekistan, the amount of dust and toxic substances in the air is increasing after consecutive summer days without rain.  According to forecasts, this week, air pollution in Tashkent will reach its highest level on July 13 (AQI 98).  On July 14, the situation will improve a little, and the PM2.5 index will decrease.

Experts point out that air pollution in Tashkent is caused by the excessive number of cars in the city, the fact that older cars emit more harmful substances into the air, as well as smoke from factories, plants, industrial areas and power plants.

We remind you that on November 4, 2021, after the rise of a dust storm in Tashkent, the amount of dust in the air increased 30 times over the set standards.  Also, the capital of Uzbekistan was the most polluted city in the world for a short time.
