20096Russian security forces have appealed to their Uzbek counterparts for information regarding the person suspected of the murder of Igor Kirillov, the head of the Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Defense Troops of the Russian Armed Forces. This was reported by TASS.
According to reports, upon receiving the request, the Uzbek side immediately provided Moscow with information on the citizen suspected of killing Igor Kirillov, who has already been detained in Russia.
It is noted that the suspect had no ties to terrorist organizations in Uzbekistan and had not been brought to justice in the country.
Sources have identified the Uzbek citizen detained in Russia as Akhmad Kurbanov, and it has been reported that an investigation is currently underway.
A video of the interrogation, released by the Public Relations Center of the Federal Security Service of Russia, shows Kurbanov stating that he was recruited by Ukrainian special services. He claimed that he was promised a reward of $100,000 and assistance in relocating to one of the European Union countries in exchange for carrying out the murder.
According to Kurbanov, he was instructed by the Ukrainian special services to travel to Moscow, purchase a scooter, and later receive components for an explosive device. He admitted to installing the explosive device on the scooter and parking it near the house "where the general lived."
To monitor the scene, Kurbanov rented a car and installed a video camera on it. The footage from the camera was transmitted to the city of Dnipro, Ukraine, via Wi-Fi.
"When he left the house, I pressed the button," Kurbanov admitted during the interrogation.
