Rare steppe lynx found roaming the streets of Tashkent

36653A rare karakul was discovered wandering the streets of the Yakkasaroy district in Tashkent. This was reported by the Tashkent Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.
According to the report, the department received a call about an unknown animal roaming the area. Upon investigation, specialists identified the animal as a steppe lynx, which is listed in the Red Book of endangered species.
"When the request made via hotlines was investigated by inspectors of the Yakkasaroy district of the Tashkent Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, it was found to be a steppe lynx listed in the Red Book," the report stated.
Following the discovery, the steppe lynx was captured with the assistance of specialists from the Tashkent Zoo and subsequently transferred to zoo for care and protection.
It should be recalled that earlier, residents of the "Kirqqizabad" neighborhood in the Piskent district of the Tashkent region reported the appearance of wolves in their village.
