A 22-year-old woman was apprehended in the Tashkent region for attempting to send her 20-year-old acquaintance to Turkey for prostitution. This was reported by Bobur Tulaganov, the press secretary of the regional Main Department of Internal Affairs.

The arrest occurred during an operation conducted by the Tashkent regional Internal Affairs Department in collaboration with the State Security Service of Ahangaran City.

According to the investigation, the suspect, identified as H.T., born in 2002 and residing in Ahangaran, deceived her acquaintance Z.O., born in 2004, with promises of easy earnings. She was caught red-handed at Tashkent International Airport while attempting to send Z.O. to Istanbul, where Turkish accomplices were waiting to exploit her for prostitution.

A criminal case has been initiated against H.T. under Article 135 of the Criminal Code (Human Trafficking). Investigative procedures are ongoing.

It should be noted that recently, a 44-year-old woman wanted in Uzbekistan for human trafficking for eight years was also detained in Turkey.
