Turkey deports Uzbek girl wanted for theft since 2020

11531A 26-year-old Uzbek citizen, wanted by Turkish law enforcement for four years, has been detained and deported. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul confirmed the arrest.
The woman, identified as Gulrukhon Akmaljon Kizi Erkinova, born in 1998, was apprehended during a joint operation by the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Turkey and Uzbekistan. Erkinova was wanted by Uzbek authorities since 2020 on charges of theft.
Following her detention, she was deported to Tashkent.
Authorities urge individuals affected by Erkinova's actions to contact the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul or the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan.
Additionally, the report recalled the previous arrest and deportation of Khatich Musoevna Jafarova, a former senior banking official in Uzbekistan. Jafarova had been wanted since 2014 on charges of embezzlement, fraud, and involvement in organized crime.
