Man was arrested for water pump theft in Surkhandarya

A man caught in the act of theft in Termiz, Surkhandarya region, has been sentenced to six years in prison. Aziz Obidov, the press secretary of the Supreme Court, provided the information.

The defendant, born in 1975, had been convicted of theft multiple times before.

According to court documents, the man entered the basement of an apartment building, stole a water pump belonging to the victim, sold it, and used the proceeds for personal needs.

In this criminal case, he was found guilty under paragraph "b" of Article 169 (Theft) of the Criminal Code and sentenced to six years of imprisonment.

It is worth noting that a similar case occurred earlier in Tashkent, where a man was sentenced to six years in prison for stealing from mosques. The individual, identified as I.O., stole 60,000 sums and a Samsung A24 phone from the pocket of a jacket in the washroom of a mosque at the "Abu-Sahi" shopping center.

In another incident, Shaykh Muhammad Sadiq Muhammad Yusuf recently "captured" a Samsung A23 phone from the ablution room of Jame Masjid.
