3454An urgent operation in the Yangihayot district of Tashkent led to the discovery of illegal drug cultivation at a residence, according to the Main Department of Internal Affairs.
Law enforcement officers inspected a house in the district, where they uncovered that drugs were being grown, and conditions were being created to facilitate their cultivation. Additionally, items intended for the consumption of these substances were found within the property.
Following the operation, the drugs were seized as evidence, and an examination was ordered as part of the ongoing criminal case.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 270 of the Criminal Code, which addresses the cultivation of prohibited crops.
According to the first part of this article, the illegal cultivation of prohibited crops such as poppies, cannabis plants, or other narcotic substances is punishable by a fine, community service, correctional labor, restriction of liberty, or imprisonment for up to three years.
This case follows a previous incident in the Jizzakh region, where a 58-year-old man was detained for storing both weapons and narcotic drugs at his home. During the investigation, authorities discovered an electronic cassette player, 13.8 grams of a narcotic substance, and a total of 65 grams of marijuana.
